The Scheme

This is a scheme which is operated by the Ministry Of Health, to provide support to the Home caregiver. Generally the client is eligible for 28 days care per year in a residential facility such as Elizabeth Knox.Such clients enjoy all the advantages that long term residents have, such as access to physiotherapy and participation in occupational therapy.A team of five General Practitioners visit the complex on a rotating daily basis and short term stay clients are allocated to one of the facility Doctors for the duration of their stay. Carer Support clients are warmly welcomed by the staff on their return visits and most enjoy the chance to again meet old friends among the residents.
