Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital is an Eden Alternative home transforming care for elders and younger people with physical disability. At Knox, plants, animals, children and meaningful activity are part of our daily life. Greater energy and optimism is our hallmark.

Are you motivated by the prospect of fighting viruses and bacteria or preventing dangerous outbreaks and epidemics? Does a gastro outbreak result in more falls? Do communal bathrooms increase infections?

Are you keen to be a part of a thriving human habitat, while also considering the impact that tiny little bugs can have?

Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital is seeking an infection prevention and control extraordinaire, and are now taking applications for the role from suitably qualified RN's or other health professionals.

As an Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator, you will support the Knox team by:

  • Thinking strategically about the Knox environment and all the aspects that contribute to IPC in a thriving human habitat ensuring our resident's home continues to be a safe place to live.

  • Ensuring that best practice IPC is what we do through maintenance of policies and procedures and ability to communicate these in a way that makes sense and is applicable.

  • Keeping an eye on the well being of the Knox community through monitoring infections and supporting the community to manage these if they occur.

  • The ability to undertake analysis of hard data while also considering anecdotes to inform the bigger picture of IPC at Knox at any given time.

  • Ensuring the community is well informed and educated on IPC by being able to tailor education and communication to a large range of unique individuals.

  • Have a proactive and practical personality and leading by example "a Find-It, Fix-It" mentality.

  • Be technology savvy and able to influence change through creative means.

This role is part time (8 hours per week) with potential for further opportunities for the right person. We are looking for a contractor or someone who is looking for a part time role.

If you are interested in this position please send your application to Sophie Dickinson.

"As an RN at Knox, we are not solely attending to the medical and nursing needs of our residents – we also have the opportunity to be an advocate for them."
