Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital is an Eden Alternative home transforming care for elders and younger people with physical disability. At Knox, plants, animals, children and meaningful activity are part of our daily life. Greater energy and optimism is our hallmark.
We are looking for exceptional people with curiosity, a warm heart and an innovative spirit. Like our residents who take every opportunity for continued growth and wellbeing, we expect our team to demonstrate a willingness to grow and learn every day.
Other homes may call you an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Social Worker, Activity Coordinato or Diversional Therapist, we call you a Lifestyle and Leisure Care Partner. That is because we do things differently at Knox.
Do you enjoy the elders' company and stories? Are you an exceptional person with a genuine heart, a willingness to make things happen, and have a curious and innovative personality? Are you looking to make a change this year and find a role with meaning?
You don’t need to have experience to make a difference with the residents at Knox. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude and ability to connect with individuals of all ages and abilities. You will come with a variety of life experiences and skills to share with our residents. You will be practical, spontaneous and down to earth. Knox is full of opportunities for residents and staff and provides a supportive environment for professional growth.
We are looking for a special person with a genuine commitment to resident-centred care and empathy with the elders while contributing positively to the wider team offering group and individual activities that are meaningful and encouraging residents to grow and be independent. You will need to hold a full clean driver license with the ability to drive our residents in the Knox van and have a good level of fitness.
If this sounds like you and you can demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, creativity, passion for caring for people and experience in working in close-knit teams, please apply.
Applicants for this position must have New Zealand Residency or a valid New Zealand Work Visa.
