Respite and short stays

A short stay at Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital in Epsom, Auckland, gives family carers a break and gives your mum or dad company and care.

Respite care

Respite guests enjoy everything our long-term residents do, including physio, activities and visiting doctors. Many come back regularly and see Knox as their second home.

Carer support

The Carer Support scheme is partly funded by the Ministry of Health to support people caring at home.

Day visits

If your mum or dad lives at home, they can spend part or all of a day with us. It’s company and something to look forward to, and it gives family carers time to rest. It can also be a gentle first step towards longer-term care. Day visits are privately funded.

Recovery after an operation

A short stay, usually one to two weeks, can help someone get home safely and confidently. Recovery stays are privately funded.
